NEXT STEPS ARTIST

St. Gallen Dance Company, Bern Ballett, and Migros Culture Percentage Dance Festival Steps selected Marioenrico for the pilot project Next Steps.
In 2025, as a Next Steps Artist, Marioenrico will choreograph for Bern Ballett (CH), as part of the triple bill evening Zwielichter, and in 2026, Marioenrico will create a new work for St. Gallen Dance Company (CH).

The St.Gallen Dance Company, Bern Ballett, and Migros Culture Percentage Dance Festival Steps are joining forces to explore new ways of promoting careers in dance. The project Next Steps, aims to provide emerging choreographers based in Switzerland with ongoing collaborations with larger professional companies and present their works to a wide audience.

Over the period of three years, Marioenrico D'Angelo and Rachelle Anaïs Scott will create choreographies for Bern Ballett, St.Gallen Dance Company, and the Steps Festival.

With his choreography for the triple bill “Zwielichter” by Bern Ballett, Marioenrico will open the Next Steps cycle: The evening featuring works by Lesley Telford, Marioenrico D'Angelo, and Xie Xin will premiere on April 26, 2025, at Stadtthearer Bern, Bühnen Bern.
