Bern Ballett tours seven Swiss cities with Night Shining Cloud as part of the STEPS Contemporary Dance Festival, sharing the stage with St. Gallen Dance Company in the double bill Twi/light. The evening includes Vanishing Point, choreographed by Rachelle Anaïs Scott for St. Gallen Dance Company.

Marioenrico D'Angelo’s play «Night Shining Clouds» focuses on the human need to belong: can we feel part of something bigger than ourselves or are we simply looking for ways to fit in? The choreography poetically explores this elusive feeling, inviting the audience to experience each moment as it unfolds.

Dancers, through their movements, create and destruct kinetic images of themselves, repeatedly losing and finding themselves in a relentless game of self-creation. Like shape-shifting clouds, they are the image of nature, whose creative energies continuously move between being and nothingness, life and death, light and darkness. It is exactly in this most delicate moment of movement between opposites, when what once was inevitably turns into what is yet to be, that dance as metamorphosis thrives and bathes itself into the beautiful colors of twilight.
