NIGHT SHINING CLOUDS

The original creation for Bern Ballet is included in the triple bill evening Zwielichter by Bühnen Bern.

In his piece “Night Shining Clouds” Marioenrico D’Angelo reflects on how dancers, through their movements, create and destruct kinetic images of themselves, repeatedly losing and finding themselves in a relentless game of self-creation. Like shape-shifting clouds, they are the image of nature, whose creative energies continuously move between being and nothingness, life and death, light and darkness. It is exactly in this most delicate moment of movement between opposites, when what once was inevitably turns into what is yet to be, that dance as metamorphosis thrives and bathes itself into the beautiful colors of twilight.
