STILL
Still is a collaboration between choreographer Marioenrico D’Angelo and artist Andrey Alves, especially created for the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Dance Gala in Shenzhen, China. It explores the layered, overlapping, and sometimes contradicting meanings of the English word “still”, treating it both as a physical state and a poetic concept. Immobility, quiet, and continuity; what remains, what persists, and what endures, despite the passage of time. Like a photographic still suspended in the flow of time, the choreography holds the traces of the past and the anticipation of what is to come, even now, and yet.
